Therapist Spotlight- Lauren Mueller

This week we would like to highlight our newest therapist, Lauren Mueller. Lauren is a wonderful addition to our team. She is energetic, upbeat, and thorough. Welcome, Lauren!

What brought you to The Speech Spot?

I came to The Speech Spot to experience the world of private practice and to work with clients with various disorders that I may not get to see often at my other job! I am so glad I found the Speech Spot - it’s been a great experience and I’ve had so much fun in therapy with my clients and working with awesome families! :)

Do you have any areas of special interest?

Areas of special interest for me include working with students preschool through fifth grade, particularly articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language impairments, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and clients who use AAC devices!

What's your favorite part about being a speech therapist?

My favorite part about being a speech therapist is by far the relationships that I have with my clients and their families and also seeing the progress made! It’s so rewarding and heartwarming to be involved in a team that truly affects kids’ and families’ daily lives!

What's your favorite children's book?

My favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle!

Harry Potter or Disney?

Disney for sure! I have Disney Plus and have been watching all of the remakes of my favorites that I watched as a kid!

Beach or Mountains?

This is a hard one… I love both, but if I had to pick, I’d pick the mountains!

Sweet or Salty?

Sweet-chocolate is a staple in my pantry!

Starbucks, all day! or Coffee, no way!

Starbucks all day!!! I run on iced and hot coffee!

What keeps you busy when you are not in the therapy room?

When I’m not in the therapy room, lately I am busy planning my upcoming wedding in September and working on new home projects! I also love to take my dog, Darla, for walks, read books, cook/bake, travel, and spend time with my family and friends exploring the Lou!
